Wednesday Night Worship Begins Again

It is with great pleasure we can announce that this year the Wednesday night worship
 has begun

BUT THERE IS A DIFFERENCE!!

The gatherings will now be held on the premises of Life Church in Kent Street
but please note this is not a Life Church gathering but a Glory Release Ministries Gathering.

Why:  God continues talking about being prepared for expansion
and so we need more space for where we believe He is taking us all
and Life Church has blessed us to allow us to use their premises in order
for us to grow into what God has called us to be.

God continues to grow the vision and He continues to talk
about 'Enlarging the place of your tent - stretch out the tent pegs - Isaiah 54

And so out of obedience and faith to what we believe and where The Lord
is multiplying and moving, we move to grow with what He is doing
and be prepared in whatever ways we can be.

So we will share more about this and what we believe The Lord is saying this coming Wednesday night but please note the difference being now it will be held at Life Church, 7pm and not Puketaha Hall.  Thank you :)

SEE YOU THEN!

Who is your family?

Something God is talking about to me and to others at the moment is about being a part of a family, no longer an individual doing their own thing.   Who is our family?

We are part of a body, and this is something I have been encouraging a lot over the years that we are not individuals, that none of us have it all, we need each other.  We are a body and all of us are different parts and without the other parts we are not complete.  A hand needs an arm, a foot needs a leg and without it they totally useless and unable to function.  We need each others giftings' and anointings' that God has given each one of us, in order to be a complete body, not lacking anything so that we can function as we are called to function, whole and complete.

We recently came back from a trip to Portugal and while I was there one of the many things God was showing me and reminding me of was who my family was and that was the people at home in NZ who loved me, who knew me, who understood me,  who had journeyed with me over years, who I felt I could cry with and grow with, and a place where I could be totally 'me'.  When I arrived home and went into our church family service on the Sunday I just started to cry as I needed to be able to cry and release some of what had happened overseas, even though it was a great time and God taught us so much,  it was still hard at times and completely what I needed in order to go to the next place in God.  And yet at the same time, the Lord showed me how much my NZ church family were my family, the safe place, the place where I could be 'me' and let down my guard so to speak.

Many of us are called to go into places that are not easy, that perhaps we might be called to go 'alone' in the going and it may seem like a 'front line war situation'.  That 'front line' is whatever you are called to, whether it may be to your neighbour who is struggling with cancer and you are helping them carry the load, whether that is to another country, whether that is to your 'work place' where it is a 'war zone' just to be a christian and to stand in what you believe.  It may be in a christian ministry situation say of 'Sozo', 'Healing Rooms', 'Youth Pastor', 'Worship leading', or 'Pastor'.   'We all have our 'areas' that the Lord has called us to take the front line in, it may simply (or not so simply as this can be the hardest place) be in our families as we continue to sow the love of God into a situation where abuse, physical, sexual, control, whatever it may be,  but we all need a place of 'safety', of 'encouragement' to keep going in the places we are in and called to.   Hence the need for the family of the body of the Christ to be that 'safe place' that 'haven', that 'time out' that we all need in order to go again out into the 'front line'.

If you believe you are called to be 'alone' in something that is fine, but I want to encourage you to make sure you can answer some questions;
Who is your family?
Do you know who is praying for you?
Do you have a place where you can cry on their shoulder?
Do you have a people who know you and encourage you to carry on in the call and vision on your life?
Who are the people that you come home to and rejoice with them of the testimonies to and ask questions on how to do things in the future?
Who are the people who can correct you, sharpen you, speak into your life that you will listen if you need correcting or discipling for your benefit and the benefit of who God sends you to?

If you can't answer some of these, then please start asking some questions to the Lord to reveal who these people are in your life,  or perhaps how to go about becoming a part of a 'family' where these things happen, because He never wants us to be alone as a lone sheep is easily attacked.   Jesus sent the disciples out 'two by two' and then they returned for more learning and teaching, but also sharing of what had happened, sharing the spoils of victory.  That 'family' may be made up in different places, and come from different arenas and walks of life as you have journeyed along the way, but please ask the Lord who those people are in your life so you have an army with you every time you move forward into the front line.  I was so blessed as we came home from Portugal to be able to come into my family that are around us in different ways, with a people who asked questions of how it went, of people saying what happened this day as I was woken to pray for you, or simply to give us a hug as I cried, or some money to go have a coffee just to encourage us.

Psalm 68:4-6
"Sing to God, Sing praise to his name.
Extol him who rides on the clouds,
His name is the Lord and rejoice before him.
A father to the fatherless, a defender of widows,
is God in His holy dwelling.
God sets the lonely in families,
He leads forth the prisoners with singing;
but the rebellious live in a sun- sorched land."

Your family does not need to be a 'church' (building) family but it does need to be a family of faith in the Lord, a people who believe in Christ Jesus and want to walk in His way.  May the Lord bless each one of you as He is blessing us, with amazing people of God who can be a blessing to you as you are a blessing to them!

The Time is Now!

Reading my bible this morning and this jumped out of it. I just had to put it up as it is so what I would say
Its a quote taken from the Revival Study Bible and its an incert along with the word:

The time is Now! (2 Cor 6:2)

"Everyone should sense the urgency of the days in which we live. While there is a might move of God sweeping the world, there is also an ominous fear gripping the hearts of millions. You can read about it in the headlines and hear about it on the evening news. Throughout the world, there is a deep concern about the future. The Bible says, "Seek the Lord while He may be found, call upon Him while He is near". (Isa 55:6).
We are living in a season of grace. God has chosen to bless, not curse. He has chosen mercy, not judgment. But, my friend, this could change at any moment. God wants to send revival to you and your household now. There is no promise of tomorrow.

Now is the time to allow the light of the gospel of Christ to shine into the deep dark, inner recesses of your heart.
Now is the time to break up the topsoil of your heart and allow the precious Word of God to enter like a seed falling on a freshly tilted garden.
Now is the time to drop your heavy burdens at the food of the cross, take His yoke upon you, and learn of Him.
Now is the time to cast all your cares upon Jesus, because He cares for you.

Many of us spend so much time musing over past mistakes that we miss the opportunity right before us. May of us are so preoccupied with taking care of our tomorrows, that we bypass our opportunity today. Remember, the opportunity of a lifetime must be seized during the lifetime of the opportunity.

When God comes near in His great mercy, do not miss your opportunity. We have no promise of tomorrow. Tomorrow is a date that can only be found in a fool's calendar. Now is the day of salvation. Do not put it off. Go after God. Pursue Him for revival in your own life and in the lives of those around you.

Choose paths that lead to life - Revisiting old 'strongholds'

Last night I had this dream where I was going down to an old town we used to live in and as we were nearly there, there were two roads in which we could get to the place we were going.  One was skirting around the town, the other was going into town but was shorter in distance.  We chose to go into town but when in town got distracted by a chinese saleman selling stuff at a little stall on the side of the street.  He was selling perfume and I love perfume so I stopped quickly to have a look if he had my perfume that I like, which he did hidden away in a cupboard and of course it was cheap so I was tempted to buy it.  Because he was from China his cigarettes were cheap as well and my friends smoked and thought this was great.  For me years ago I used to smoke but no longer did but because my friends smoked and it encouraged me to want to buy the cigarettes as well and I nearly did.

The Lord was showing me several things in this dream.
Firstly often in life there are two roads in which we can go to get to the same place.  One road may be longer but have less distractions and the other shorter but be full of temptations that a) it takes us longer to get there and b) we can easily get enticed into things we don't want to do, and c) be sensitive as to not encourage people who may be weak in something that might not be good for them because you love them.  Something I noticed too in this dream was I was going back to a town I used to live in.  So I believe The Lord is saying that there are times in our lives we are going to revisit, those places or 'strongholds' that used to have a hold on us and will we still be tempted to go down old familiar paths that are no longer who we are now and not to be enticed away into old desires, but hold fast to the changes that have happened and walk a path that leads to life and life in all its fullness.

There are many areas that we can be tempted by, in this dream spending money when I didn't need to,
For me its a bit like going to the supermarket and how you have a list of your groceries but then as you go around there are all these things on special and you are tempted by the sale price and so you end up buying more than you need.  (of course no one else does this do they :) )
The other thing was old habits that no longer had a hold and those old habits can be things like smoking, drinking, bad language, whatever it may be that be easily started again because of the people around you that walk in those things that you may be weak in.

Jeames 1:12  Blessed is the man who endures temptation; for when he has been approved, he will receive the crown of life which The Lord has promised to those who love Him.  Let no one say when he is tempted, "I am tempted by God"; for God cannot be tempted by evil, nor does He Himself tempt anyone.  But each one is tempted when he is drawn away by his own desires and enticed.  Then, when desire has conceived, it gives birth to sin, and sin, when it is full-frown, brings forth death.
Do not be deceived, my beloved brethren.  Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and comes down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow of turning.  Oh His own will He brought us forth by the word of truth, that we might be a kind of firstfruits of His creatures."

The Lords want to encourage us today to avoid old habits, temptations that we can easily be led astray into whatever that might be and be alert and self-controlled.
1 Cor 9:24 "Do you not know that those who run in a race all run, but one receives the prize?  Run in such a way that you may obtain it.  And everyone who competes for the prize is temperate in all things.  Now they do it to obtain a perishable crown, but we for an imperishable crown.  Therefore I run thus; not with uncertainty.  Thus I fight; not as one who beats the air.  But I discipline my body and bring it into subjection, lest, when I have preached to others, I myself should become disqualified.

Now the other day we had a group of people in our home and I shared more than I needed to about how good and cheap the wine was in Portugal while we were there but because some may have been weak in the area of alcohol, now looking back, it may have encouraged people to drink by me saying it was alright. But too I want to clarify that I did not dream more than a glass perhaps two in a night, so there was no drinking to excess.  But this is not an area that I lack self-control in and so it is not an issue for me, but because I love my brother I could have been more sensitive to those in the room for whom this might be an issue.  So The Lord shows me this and reminds me to be careful and so my apologies to anyone who may have struggled with this.

So there are two things going on, be careful, alert and on guard that you do not get dragged away and enticed and take a hold of the thing that is being offered that you may be weak in, whether it be cigarettes, alochol, lust, pornography, whatever it may be.
But also please be sensitive to those around you who do not have the same freedom in Christ as you do and it may be like a temptation to them which could lead them down a path that is not good for them.

Lord I pray that you would help us and show us in areas that would lead to life and not death.  You say "every day you set before us life or death and you say choose life", help us Lord to choose life and those things that lead to life.  And thank you Lord for your forgiveness when we have not walked down paths that lead to life.   Help us Lord too to be sensitive to the needs around us that our actions and our words would not lead people into temptation.  Forgive us when they have Lord and I thank you for that forgiveness and help us to have eyes to see so that we would not continue to walk in such a way.
Thank you Jesus.

A beautiful rose to be....

Yesterday I felt this need to go and buy a rose, it was not something I had planned but just felt let by the Holy Spirit to go and buy a rose bush and so I went and they were all on special because it is really the wrong time to plant them, the only ones left were the diseased, not wanted cheap ones which were $9.99 instead of $24.99.  I didn't know why I had to buy them, but I just did and I ended up buying five and then felt I needed to put aside an area in my garden as a special rose garden.

After sharing with this to Jim this morning the word came as to why I had to buy roses.  Roses are one of the hardest plants in my opinion to look after and care for, they take a lot of work.  You have to prune them, you have to regularly cut them back and cut off diseased branches, they can be prickly and cause pain, they need regularly spraying to keep the bugs off them and then they may only flower once or twice perhaps more in a season for a seemingly short time compared to all the work that goes into making them flower.  BUT when they do they are amazing and they can be so fragrant and beautiful that all the work doesn't matter for the joy that you get out of the beauty that they carry.  And to me it was a word the Lord was giving me, that His people can be prickly, his people carry diseased branches that need pruning, often they are the ones that no one wants because they are the left overs of societies or have issues that people don't know how to handle and yet He is the true gardener that tends them and helps them grow to become something beautiful in its time.  And if we take that time with people we will see the beauty they become.

Many people overlook seeing the beauty that could be there in those diseased roses that they give up and pick roses at a shop that have nothing wrong with them, but Jesus came for the ones that no body wanted, the despised, the rejected, those with flaws, the leftovers and he takes them home and tends to them and he loves them to a place of fruitfulness.

Lets be a people who love and tend to the people around us who may be a bit prickly at times, who may be showing more of their disease than their beauty but see beyond that to who they really are and to what is in them and help them to become all they are to become.

I have now planted these roses in my garden this afternoon helped by my husband and when he planted them, the first thing he said is that they make that area look homely and welcoming whereas before it was an empty area even though they are not at their best yet.  Those people who God puts in our path to love, complete who we are to be, welcoming and homely.
