Are you feeling frustrated, discouraged, discontented - then be encouraged to keep going for at the proper time you WILL reap a harvest.

Many are the voices I am hearing of frustration, of when, of what is going on, of disappointment, of wanting more but getting discouraged but the Lord would say, do not give up in doing good for at the proper time you will reap a harvest - and I believe that harvest is not long off.  The enemy's tactics are to wear out the saints but I want to encourage you - keep going, don't give up, only believe.

In looking at why sometimes frustration etc is there, the Lord showed me that sometimes its because we are looking more at the dreams and visions we have that aren't being fulfilled than looking at the source of our true fulfillment which is only found in Jesus.  Philippians 3:7  “But whatever was to my profit I now consider loss for the sake of Christ.  What is more, I consider everything a loss compared to the surpassing greatness of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord, for whose sake I have lost all things.  I consider them rubbish, that I may gain Christ and be found in him, not having a righteousness of my own that comes from the law, but that which is through faith in Christ. “

Christ is our reward not the dreams and visions that we are awaiting on from which our disappointment, frustration etc. can often come.   If we are seeing and focusing more of the promises then we have lost sight of our true reward.   He is the total fulfillment in all of life and without him we have nothing.

So lets keep sight of our true reward but also to keep faith and belief in the promises he has given.

Frustration, disappointment, discouragement etc. actually are good things, they pushes us into the next thing.  You realise you are not satisfied with where things are at and so you desire and pursue questions as to why you are not seeing what you want to see.  The problem comes when we don't listen to the answer we may receive and do what the Lord says to do.  Or we settle where things are at and fall into a satisfied or resolved position which steps us out of faith and keeps us where we are at but no longer as a people of faith and belief in the God of the impossible.    There is always more I believe in the Lord for me and for those around me as I learn to walk from ‘glory to glory’.  I had this question in Africa when I said to the Lord, "I want to see more" and he said “Well Sarah step out more and pray for that one with the club foot on crutches that seems impossible".  So I had to action what I believed the Lord said.    Whatever the Lord reveals is the reason for our frustration or sense of discouragement or discontentment, we need to do something with what he shows us in order for things to change because the problem lies with us and not with God.  God can and will do what he says he will do, he cannot lie, but there may be things hindering us in receiving everything we want.

I had a dream a couple of months ago and it was of a power boat that was tied up on shore and this boy said he could drive the power boat but when he jumped in and started it, it took off and spun out of control tipping up the people in the boat and causing damage.  We often think we are ready and can handle the power of God, but like any good father, he is not going to give you the keys of the car if you don't know how to drive :)  We first need to learn to drive the car before we can be entrusted with the car on our own.  Our daughter is learning to drive the car at the moment and is currently on a learners license and then she will progress to the restricted and then to the full.  In the weekend Jim taught her how to change a tyre, check the oil etc. and they were the rules for her before she was allowed to go for her restricted license so that if she were driving on her own she could handle some of things that are associated with the car on her own.  We are so often wanting to get in and drive the car, drive the power boat, thinking we can handle it but there are things we need to learn first before being entrusted with that power so that others will not get hurt in the process.

We need to be life long learners and so I would encourage you if you are in a place of frustration, discontentment, discouraged, or whatever, firstly give thanks in all circumstances which encourages you to see that Jesus is working and takes your focus back to him rather than the dreams and visions which you aren't yet seeing fulfilled but will happen as you delight yourself in him (Psalm 37).  Secondly ask the questions for your frustration etc and then listen to the answer from the Lord and then action what he says and allow patience to have its perfect work in you so that you will be lacking nothing and fully equipped for every good work (James 1:2-4)  that the Lord would have you step into.

Moving in the Freedom of the Spirit - It begins with me

In the book Samuel the people asked for a King to lead them and so God gave them a King, what are you asking for from the Lord? "Ask and you shall receive".......I am asking for revival to flood this nation, to changes peoples lives, that the Sound of the Lord would be heard in this land that would echo to the Nations in Jesus name... “    If I am asking for revival then I need to be one of the ones that step out to see it come in this nation – as do you. :)  Just the same as if you are wanting to make more money, then you look for ways in order for that to happen.  When we were in Africa I was praying to the Lord and saying “Lord I want to see more” and he said to me “Sarah step out more and then you will see more. Go to that man with the crutches and the huge club foot, how will you see if you don’t step out”

A part of the 'position yourself' theme that is coming through at the moment is you need to make yourself available to what the Lord would open up to you - if you find yourself so busy that there is no room for people or what the Lord might ask of you then you may need to reassess your lifestyle and change so as to prepare ourselves & be available in that arena.  Our call for everyone of us as a Christian is that of Matt 28: 18-20 The Great Commission v19 “Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you.  And surely I am with you always to the very end of the age”

This doesn’t mean you have to go to the nations, you just have to be available and step out in faith in what God puts in front of you.   Jim and I yesterday went to a cafe on a coffee date and whilst having coffee the Lord gave a word of knowledge on a man in the cafĂ©.  I had a choice, to follow it through and make myself vulnerable and see what God would do or continue drinking coffee with my husband.  So after talking with Jim I  made myself available and went up to him, ended up talking with him for 20 minutes and praying for him, not on the word of knowledge as that didn't hit a nail on the spot for him that he could think of, but on everything else, his hurts of the past, where he is at now, his perceptions on church, his dream of the future, everything.  He opened his heart as I opened my heart by stepping up to him.  You reap what you sow.   I ended up sharing testimony,  sharing scripture, sharing part of my life & journey with him which opened his heart to the things of Jesus - he was blessed and I was blessed.    It wasn’t difficult but it did take a step of courage to cross that ‘chicken line’ and allow God to do the rest and he did.     It didn't matter that I got the word of knowledge wrong for him and all that did was show me that I needed a bit more sharpening in that area, perhaps it was some one else's in the room and so I ask the Lord to teach me and refine and sharpen me, because it opened up a way for God to come in.

Joan of Arc - a young girl of 16 from the country believed what she was hearing from the Lord so much so she stepped out and ended up leading the armies of France in battle and became the "Maid of Heaven" to the people and is known in history for ever as a Saint. What do you believe that you will step out in and be willing to be put to shame by people but not by God because the word says in Prov 25 that "those who trust in the Lord will never be put to shame!"

Tools that needed sharpening and fires that needed more wood to keep burning.

Yesterday in church I had a couple of pictures which I would like to share with you all.  One was of tools in a tool box which had got a little dull and needed sharpening and the other was of getting more wood for the fire to keep it burning.

This is a time of year when you are preparing your garden, putting in new things and some of those tools that we use for doing the garden dull if they are not regularly sharpened and we need to get them out and get them sharpened.  The same goes for our spiritual life, if we don’t keep ourselves sharp in the word, if we keep ourselves hidden away and not used, then the tool is good for nothing but also sometimes we can use the tools that we have too much and we need times of refreshing in the Lord.   Take the time to keep yourselves sharp and alert in the Lord.

And the picture of getting wood in to put on the fire spoke to me that no one else was going to get wood to keep your fire burning, you needed to get the wood in yourself.  I think it was Charles Wesley who said, “Set yourself on fire and others will come and watch you burn”.  We need to keep our own fire burning and not rely on others to keep our fire going.

May the Lord bless you and help you as you desire to keep your tools sharp and keep your fire burning!

The next step - Teaching people to move in the freedom of the Spirit

This morning I woke up with a dream where I was teaching people how to walk in the freedom of the Spirit and so  I believe the Lord is asking me to teach people how to do this and in so doing, we share our story of where it all begun for us and how did we get to where we are now.    This is a question that is sometimes posed to me and in beginning to share our journey I do so because I believe what is going to come is a move of the spirit in such a way that it will transform nations, as we become a people of the Spirit and not of the flesh.  Where as we step out in the things of the Spirit, God is going to move powerfully even though it is not of the usual form or the way we have seen it before, but we know it is of God and the fruit testifies to the presence of God.  The fruit of the spirit of Gal 6, the characteristics & image of God coming out in peoples lives, of healings happening in the midst without anyone laying on of hands because the presence of God is so tangible, and people are set free from bondages and delivered simply because where the Light of God is, the darkness has to flee – it cannot stay. (1 John 1:5  “God is light; in him there is no darkness at all.”)
Where people become a people no longer sitting on the fence in their relationship with God but either being hot or cold.

We share our journey out of complete humility with God and what he has taught us that could help others to come into what we believe is coming, not because we have anything more than anyone else, but simply because the Lord is asking me to teach people what I have learnt.  The word that the Lord has been speaking to me about recently is it “Position Yourself” and I believe we are in a time where we need to position ourselves for what is going to come.  Yesterday I was at a meeting and a prayer was given for who needed wealth, but as people were being prayed for I felt also this weight of responsibility that came with receiving much wealth.  We all want wealth for whatever reason, that is between you and God, but with great wealth there is great responsibility and if we desire, ask & believe to have it, then we need to be prepared for it to come.  The Lord showed me several years ago that great wealth was going to come into our hands and hence actually why we started up Glory Release Ministries as a charitable trust because we knew that the wealth that was going to come was going to be used for Kingdom purposes and so we have ‘positioned ourselves’ in order for that to come.  We have yet to see it but are believing for it and so stepped out in faith and action for what we believe for.   The Lord says that to whom much is given much is expected.  We as a body of Christians have been given so much and now we need to position ourselves in a way that we are using everything the Lord has given ourselves for His purposes however that may look.

And so as I begin on the journey of offering what the Lord has taught us to others in learning to move  in the freedom of the Spirit, keep an eye out for  the new blogs and feel free to encourage others to read them.  Please pray for me as I step out in faith in this arena.  Please pray that the Lord would show me the scriptures he would want me to use.  Please pray Matt 15:14  “Every plant that my heavenly Father has not planted will be pulled by the roots.” in peoples lives and in my own.   Please pray that I would not be a blind person leading another into a pit but that the Lord would given revelation that would make it clear and understandable to those who read what he shows me.
Please pray that peoples hearts and minds would open up to the wind of the spirit touching their lives and changing mindsets and making them available for what the Lord is wanting to bring in our nation and the nations of the world.

Thank you so much – with love – Sarah

Position yourself - a declogging of the coffee machine!

Something else that came this morning in regards to positioning yourself for the Lord.

As I woke up this morning I had some lemon with hot water as as drink that cleanses my system and then I cleaned out my coffee machine with some white vinegar to get rid of all the bits that were clogging it up.  When I did this I felt the Lord speaking to me that I need a bit of 'cleansing', a bit of 'unclogging' the things in me that have got a built up over time that need the Holy Spirit running through me to unclog those things, so that I am completely cleansed and available for Him to do what he wants to do through me.  What are some of the things that are 'clogging up' the free flow of the Holy Spirit pouring out and through you that perhaps you might need some cleansing of?   We are more than happy to cleanse our bodies by doing a detox but how about doing a detoxifying, if you like, of our souls so that we are positioned for all that the Lord wants to do in and through us.  A getting rid of those things that hinder the fullness of the Holy Spirit being released through us to those around us?
And how do you do a detox then?
1.   Prayer and asking the Lord to show us those things that are clogging or hindering us.  Then when he shows us to actually do something about it.   James 1:5  "If any of you lacks wisdom, he should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to him.  But when he asks, he must believe and not doubt..."
2.   You may need to fast in order to hear what the Lord is saying, just like a natural detox there is a time to fast physically so that the things that are hindering us from hearing the Lord get revealed through this process as we often are able to identify those things that have a hold on our lives.  Fasting is a whole another subject which we don't want to go onto here but it is more a way of positioning yourself to be hearing from the Lord.
3.  Perhaps asking others that you trust and have relationship with what they see in you that you don't see in yourself that may need attention or change.

This is not a method that needs to be followed but just some thoughts as I ponder about something the Lord is showing me this morning in positioning myself for what is ahead and wanting to be prepared and available for the Lord to use me however he would choose to.  If I want revival and change to happen in my nation then first it has to happen in me. :)

Time is near - Position Yourself

A word I had in Africa in one of the last meetings was "Position Yourselves".  And as the people positioned their hearts toward God, He came in all His Glory and it was amazing, setting people free and bringing them into a new place in the Lord, refired for the work of God.

Last night I had a dream and in this dream I saw this professor at work in his office but where he worked, a Bank had built their building right in front of him and once where there was light coming through the windows, there no longer was because the Banks building was in the way.  Now he couldn't move the building but he had a choice to make whether to stay in the office now with no light or shift his office in order to have light coming through the window.

I believe what the Lord is saying in this is that we can be busy doing what we are doing and all is good but then things come and get in the way like money as an example which  can stop us from seeing and walking in the light taking away our focus from the light because money becomes the focus instead.   Whatever it is, there are different things that stop the 'light' from coming into our lives.  We need to make a decision to position ourselves to be in a place where we see and walk in the light.  We need to sometimes make decisions that may be difficult and quite costly in different ways but in the end is worthwhile because we will then be in a place of walking in the light.

1 John 1:5 God is light; in him there is no darkness at all.  If we claim to have fellowship with him yet walk in the darkness, we lie and do not live by the truth.  But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, purifies us from all sin."

Following on from that dream there was another part I would like to share.  I was sitting down talking to people in my home and suddenly I realised the time while talking to them  that I had only 10 minutes before I needed to be at a meeting place where we were all going on a bus off to a camp.  Time had run away on me and I wasn't ready to be there as I was caught up talking to people.  I thought in this dream, its okay the bus will wait for us as I am sure other people will be late as well.

In looking at this I believe what the Lord is saying is be prepared.   The end is near and we cannot be found not prepared and ready to go when the time comes or we will miss out.  We cannot be found just talking about things with people and not doing what we need to do, making excuses as to why we are not ready because of someone else.  It's our responsibility to be ready at the appointed time and not blame others for not being ready.

Matthew 25:1-13  The Parable of the Ten Virgins - v13 "Therefore keep watch, because you do not know the day or the hour."

One last part I want to share of my dreams last night was I was walking to the bus stop and my feet were getting tired as I was wearing high healed shoes and they were not good for walking in long distance but then a friend came along and held my hand and helped me walk the rest of the way.

I believe what the Lord is saying is that sometimes on the journey we get tired, our feet get sore and sometimes we feel discouraged, but he will send people to help us along the way to keep us heading in the right direction, people that can take our hand in love and gentleness and lead us on and we need to take the hand that is offered.

Luke 24:13-30  The Road to Emmaus  v15 ...As they talked and discussed these things with each other, Jesus himself came up and walked along with them, but they were kept from recognizing him.....

So to sum up :

  1. Position yourselves so that you are people who walk in the light, no matter if it costs you a lot, it will be worth it.
  2. Be ready the end is near - don't blame others for your not being prepared.
  3. The Lord will send people to help us along the way - take the help, don't be so proud that you think you can do it on your own, we need each other.
With love, Sarah
